Move and groove alongside the City of Miramar during its 3rd Annual Afro-Carib Festival (ACF), presented by Visit Lauderdale. Taking place at the Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater from 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, the Afro-Carib Festival celebrates the diverse music, culture and cuisines of the African and Caribbean diasporas.
Swaying to the Rhythm
With live performances spanning a bevy of musical genres, including soul, reggae, Afrobeats, reggaeton and salsa, this year’s event will be headlined by groundbreaking reggae artist Koffee, TikTok sensation CKay, and reggaeton hitmaker Jacob Forever.
Koffee
Affectionately known as Jamaica’s “reggae ambassador of positive energy,” Koffee’s unique approach to the genre makes her one of the most exciting and forward-thinking artists of her generation. Her runaway 2018 hit, “Toast,” currently boasts 214 million views on YouTube and over 141 million streams on Spotify – an incredible feat for a teenage newcomer. At 18, she was the youngest (and first) female reggae artist to win Best Reggae Album at the GRAMMY Awards.
CKay
This emerging artist exploded onto the scene with “Love Nwantiti,” a viral TikTok sensation that saw dancers from around the globe participating in the dance challenge. Now, “Love Nwantiti” has earned the distinction of being the most “Shazamed” song in the world. Known for his bouncy, futuristic melodies, CKay is undoubtedly inspired by the African diaspora.
Jacob Forever
Cuban-born Jacob Forever is a GRAMMY Award-nominated artist known for hits like “Hasta Que Se Seque el Malecón.” Expertly blending bachata, reggaeton and urban rhythms, Jacob Forever has collaborated with internationally-renowned artists like Pitbull, De La Ghetto, Nacho and Farruko, among others.
